Position Overview:
The primary role of the Heavy Laborer at the butter plant is to prepare and package butter according to required specifications.
Location: ADL O’Leary – 1 Gaspe Rd., O’Leary, PE
Schedule: Weekdays, Dayshift
Wage Rate: $19.43 – 21.59 / hour
- Safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment, including equipment setup, butter feeding, box assembly, box filling, box weighing, box stacking on pallets, pallet wrapping, and finished product storage.
- Handling shipping and receiving tasks, such as receiving materials, verifying shipment accuracy, and loading trucks.
- Cleaning the facility by unwrapping hoses, hosing down the floor, using a foamer to clean, and scrubbing the floor.
- Accurate and meticulous completion of production records and documents.
- Conducting visual inspections of equipment, floors, ceilings, and overhead structures.
- Ensuring strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) without deviation.
- Complying with established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety Requirements, and occupational health and safety procedures.
- Collaborating effectively with co-workers and personnel to ensure smooth operations and efficient teamwork.
- Successful completion of all required training programs.
- Performing any other related duties as assigned or required.
- Previous experience in a HACCP certified food production setting preferred.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with changing temperatures, noise, and constant movement around manufacturing equipment.
- Experience working with chemicals and following approved chemical handling procedures is an asset.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
