Filler Operator

Position Overview:
The Filler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machines that fill 1- and 2-liter milk cartons, ensuring the accurate and efficient production of dairy products. This union position involves setting up machinery, monitoring production, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring quality control throughout the process. The Filler Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining production flow, supporting maintenance tasks, and adhering to safety and sanitation protocols. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment and Schedule:
The Filler Operator will work in a fast-paced production environment, involving physical tasks such as lifting crates and maintaining equipment cleanliness. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and attention to detail for maintaining high-quality standards.
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, rotating between shifts from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Shifts may run later depending on production needs.

- Set up and operate machines for milk carton filling.
- Move and prepare crates for filling, ensuring efficient stacking and storage.
- Monitor production for accuracy in filling, labeling, and tracking.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment troubleshooting as needed.
- Clean and maintain equipment, including initiating Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) processes.
- Ensure proper sanitation by checking, cleaning, and reassembling components.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Follow safety and operational protocols, including using appropriate PPE.
- Participate in and complete necessary operational and safety training.
- Assist in training employees on safety procedures and equipment use.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support production operations.
- Physically fit to handle lifting, moving crates, and standing for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail for operating machinery, cleaning, and completing paperwork.
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and company procedures, including PPE use.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to different tasks and equipment.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or production preferred.
