Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) is a producer-owned, independent cooperative with dairy processing plants and a retail food distribution facility across Prince Edward Island (PEI). For over 70 years, ADL has been dedicated to transforming fresh milk from local PEI farms into premium dairy products, including milk, cheese, cream, butter, and canned milk. Our products grace kitchens and restaurants throughout PEI and Canada.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Part-Time Retail Clerk to join our ADL Store team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, ensuring accurate transactions, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the store. This position is essential to delivering a positive shopping experience for all customers.
Location: The ADL Store, 400 Read Drive, Summerside, PE
Hours: 25-30 hours per week, with shifts scheduled across days, evenings, and weekends. Flexibility is required based on business needs.
Wage Rate: $16.50 / hour
- Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting customers with product inquiries and addressing concerns.
- Accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments, and maintain customer account records.
- Handle product restocking and ensure displays are organized and properly maintained.
- Adhere to store policies and procedures, including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting a minimum of 30 lbs and maintaining store organization.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain a welcoming environment for customers.
- Prior customer service experience is required, ideally within a retail environment.
- Knowledge of retail food service or grocery is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Proficiency with basic computer tasks and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying items up to 30 lbs regularly.
