Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Position Overview: 

We are looking for a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team. In this multifaceted role, you will maintain and repair essential electrical and mechanical systems, uphold safety standards, and drive continuous improvement across operations. Your responsibilities will include project management, contractor coordination, and inventory oversight. Schedule: 4-day, 10-hour shifts for a better work-life balance, with occasional overtime when needed; weekend and evening availability is required as part of a rotating on-call pager schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and repair production systems, participate in projects, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Respond to equipment failures and call-ins; perform after-hours and weekend repairs as part of scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Conduct preventative and scheduled maintenance, and coordinate with departments for machine availability
  • Promote and ensure safety standards and stay current with safety policies.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Coordinator and assist in ordering and managing parts inventory.
  • Perform and document calibrations according to standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant areas
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance efficiency and suggest system upgrades.
  • Participate in operational and safety training for employees as required.
  • Complete all required paperwork in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and policies.
  • Proficiency in equipment calibration and documentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Project planning and execution skills
  • Ability to manage parts inventory and process invoices
  • Familiarity with PLC ladder logic
  • Industrial Electrical experience

Education and Training:
  • Red Seal certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or an Industrial Electrician.
