Position Overview:
The Assistant Filler Operator is responsible for supporting the production process by efficiently placing milk into crates, maintaining cleanliness of machinery, and assisting with the wash cycles of the production line. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assistant Filler Operator plays a key role in maintaining smooth operations and ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency standards are upheld.
Location: ADL St. Eleanors, 36 Greenwood Drive, Summerside, PE
Wage Rate: $21.17 – $23.52 / hour
Work Environment and Schedule:
The Assistant Filler Operator will work in a fast-paced production environment, involving physical tasks such as lifting crates and maintaining equipment cleanliness. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and attention to detail for maintaining high-quality standards.
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, rotating between shifts from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Shifts may run later depending on production needs.
- Duration: Expected to continue until January 2025 depending on business requirements.
- Move empty crates into the production room to prepare for filling.
- Fill crates with two-liter milk containers until full, and stack crates five or six high for efficient storage.
- Clean and maintain the 2-liter machine, ensuring all areas are thoroughly cleaned and properly set up for line wash.
- Set up and initiate the Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) process for mix tanks and production lines, including moving pipes and starting wash cycles on the computer.
- Check and clean valves, ensuring proper sanitation and reassembly.
- Accurately complete all required documentation and paperwork on time.
- Adhere to all safety and operational protocols, always following proper procedures.
- Participate in and complete all required training programs for operational and safety standards.
- Provide training to employees on safety procedures and operational tasks as necessary.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail for equipment operation, cleaning, and accurate paperwork.
- Willingness to follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a production setting.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred.
