General Maintenance – Permanent Full-time Position

Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) is a producer-owned, independent cooperative with dairy processing plants and a retail food distribution facility across Prince Edward Island (PEI). For over 70 years, ADL has been dedicated to transforming fresh milk from local PEI farms into premium dairy products, including milk, cheese, cream, butter, and canned milk. Our products grace kitchens and restaurants throughout PEI and Canada.

Position Overview: 

We are currently seeking a General Maintenance to support our maintenance team at the ADL Fitzroy location. This role is essential in maintaining our diverse range of processing and packaging equipment to ensure operational efficiency. If you have a hands-on approach to maintenance work and are eager to develop skills that could lead to a Red Seal certification, we want to hear from you!

Location: ADL Fitzroy, 215 Fitzroy St., Charlottetown, PE

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $27.31 – $28.13 / hour. Day shifts – Monday to Friday – Overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance on production equipment and facilities including welding, machining, and fabrication tasks.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Order and source parts and equipment as needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Complete all maintenance documentation neatly and promptly.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards and policies.
  • Provide operational and safety training to team members as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and training programs to enhance skills and career growth.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, welding, machining, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and compliance in a maintenance environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills and a strong team player.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow towards obtaining a Red Seal certification.
