Laboratory Technician

Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) is a producer-owned, independent cooperative with dairy processing plants and a retail food distribution facility spread throughout PEI. For 70 years, we have processed fresh milk from PEI farms to produce premium dairy products, including milk, cheese, cream, butter, and canned milk. Our quality dairy products are in kitchens and restaurants across PEI and Canada.
Position Overview:
As a Laboratory Technician in our Quality Control team, you’ll ensure our products meet safety and quality standards. Based at our Water St. division, your tasks include conducting tests, recording data, and maintaining lab equipment. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who excel in a dynamic environment and are dedicated to upholding our commitment to excellence. Compensation and Benefits:

- Conduct various chemical and microbiological tests on products.
- Accurately record test results in the lab software.
- Prepare and plate samples for testing.
- Collect and process samples from different production areas.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Generate reports and communicate results to relevant departments.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations.
- Manage lab supplies and place orders as needed.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of lab areas and equipment.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Provide operational and safety training for employees as needed.
- Assist in other related duties as required.
- Practical lab experience in food production or manufacturing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with safety and quality regulations in a lab setting.
- Willingness to undergo necessary training programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
