Quality Control Manager
Type: Permanent, Full Time

Position Overview
As the Quality Control Manager, you will lead our Quality team to ensure regulatory, food safety, and quality compliance across our operations. The role reports to the Director of Operations and oversees team members responsible for six sites across Prince Edward Island. This role plays a crucial part in driving continuous improvement in quality, food safety, and operational efficiency (including process streamlining and productivity) across the organization.

Leadership & Team Development
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the Quality team
- Oversee performance evaluations, competency development, and succession planning
- Support onboarding, communication, and project delegation
Quality Systems Strategy & Compliance
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with CFIA, GFSI, and other applicable standards
- Manage non-conformities, complaints, and corrective action processes
- Oversee supplier approvals and performance monitoring
- Monitor evolving food safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Analyze trends and advise leadership on risk mitigation strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams to embed quality and food safety requirements into product development
- Act as a key resource for customer-facing and administrative quality needs
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead digital transformation initiatives within the Quality function
- Optimize SOPs, document control, and reporting systems
- Manage budgets, project assignments, and team decision-making
- Coordinate onboarding and internship programs
- Minimum five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the dairy or food industry
- Strong working knowledge of quality assurance programs such as GMP and HACCP
- Strong leadership and team management skills, along with a sustained commitment to team development
- Knowledge of change management and Lean Manufacturing tools and methods
- Proven project management skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and statistical software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with multiple stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Life Sciences, or related field
