Position Overview:

The primary role of the Heavy Laborer at the butter plant is to prepare and package butter according to required specifications.

Location: ADL O’Leary – 1 Gaspe Rd., O’Leary, PE

Schedule: Weekdays, Dayshift

Wage Rate: $19.43 – 21.59 / hour


Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment, including equipment setup, butter feeding, box assembly, box filling, box weighing, box stacking on pallets, pallet wrapping, and finished product storage.
  • Handling shipping and receiving tasks, such as receiving materials, verifying shipment accuracy, and loading trucks.
  • Cleaning the facility by unwrapping hoses, hosing down the floor, using a foamer to clean, and scrubbing the floor.
  • Accurate and meticulous completion of production records and documents.
  • Conducting visual inspections of equipment, floors, ceilings, and overhead structures.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) without deviation.
  • Complying with established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety Requirements, and occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborating effectively with co-workers and personnel to ensure smooth operations and efficient teamwork.
  • Successful completion of all required training programs.
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a HACCP certified food production setting preferred.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with changing temperatures, noise, and constant movement around manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience working with chemicals and following approved chemical handling procedures is an asset.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
